I'm definitely going to turn my lights out and encourage my friends to do the same.

It's a good way to help people realise how much energy we use.

I would...

1) use fabric bags instead of paper/ plastic
2) I don't use water in plastic bottles
3) I hope people would stop idling their cars where I live

The podcast was great! I completely agree with saving energy and making people aware of the global warming problem. I believe it is something that we should try to think about not only during that earth hour, but everyday...how can we reduce the amount of energy we use everyday? I know for me it will be to make sure my power bar is turned off before I leave the house. I will pass the message on about earth hour and more...and I encourage everyone to do the say.

Way to go Deb for setting this all up, it really is wonderful! :) Ms. Sharma

I've started turning off my computer and unplugging any machines have displays that use energy when I'm not using them (VCR, DVD player, microwave). I've also started checking food labels in the grocery store and choosing foods that are grown in Ontario. Food that's shipped in from all over the world uses up a lot of energy just getting to my plate. Why waste that energy when I can get delicious food (apples, pears, carrots, potatoes, squash) that's grown near my own home?

I think that its important to save energy. But most people are not doing so. I try to encourage others to save energy. I save energy all the time. Sadly others dont do so.

I would think turning off the lights will be good for saving energy on the planet.

This will definitely contribute to the general awareness of energy consumption. I think you should do it! Give your self a chance - turn off your lights for an hour. Let's see what difference it will make!!

The mere fact that cities across the world has incorporated such excellent method of energy consumptuion speaks volumes. Turning off lights for an hour is a great start to create awarenedd of the importance of energy consuption in the world in which we live.

Global Warming is an extremely controversial issue at the moment that needs to be addressed. Hence, this idea of turning off lights is significant to the start of improving the climatic conditions in this world created by global warming!
