WOW! Congrats to all the New Canadian masters in Room 29. They're not only great paintings, but they're honouring a great Canadian painter. BRAVO!!!
These paintings are gorgeous. After seeing them in the "gallery" I went to look for more information...I learned that Morrisseau was called the Picasso of the North, and that he called himself by his Cree name, Copper Thunderbird! Thanks for twigging my curiosity, room 29ers.

I am a fan of Morrisseau and I think Rm 29 has really captured the essence of his way of painting. Loved the brilliant colours and drawings. Thank you for sharing this on the blog. Lori, Deb's friend
