Birthday wishes to Nelson Mandela

Nelson Mandela, Madiba of South Africa, inspiration behind our school, and famous everywhere in the world as ambassador for fairness and freedom for all, is turning 90 years old this July!

He has been told about this website, and may be peeking in here to read anything special you might write to him. Will you wish Mr. Mandela happy birthday in your very own way? Will you tell him what you wish for him and for all the children in the world who he works so hard to help?

Click comments below and compose a careful letter, making sure you put To:.... and From:.... [not you last name, please] - then he can see it on this blog. Perhaps he will answer....!

Dear Mr mandela i know that you fought for freeedom in South Africa, which was very good.
I also now that you said
"Education is the most powerful weapon which I can use to change the world", which is always used and said in our school. This is important to our school because
people use this advise. Here in Canada we sometimes make signs or make groups to help stop violence and racism. If i grow up to turn ninety i would like to contribute something to the world, perhaps an invention. Anyways, I wish you a Happy Birthday.

I know that you didn't stop fighting for the freedom of Arica even though you were in prison for such a long time!I know that you said:To be free is not merely to cast off one's chains, but to live in a way that enhances the freedom of others. To me this is special because it means that you have to respect each other and be happy for what you have.In my life I have all was wished it was more intresting and adventurous so that my life wouldn't be so boring but after reading your biography, I took back my words because in your life, it has alot of bad things like killings and dangerouse stuff so I'm planing to keep my odl boring life.when I turn 90, I hope I will have got one of the jobs I want.

Please enjoy your birthday!

I think this quote is very special because i have learned that helping others is better than you being free yourself. here in regent park, i see lots of things that has to be changed and things that have to be right, and a lot of things that are good. When i turn nintey, i hope that every one will understand how bad rascism was and how it still is bad. Anyways i hope you have a wonderful birthday. Your my hero!

Dear Mr. Mandela my hero!
I know that you have brought freedom to many poeples lives..and I think that what you did is GREAT! I know that you said “Education is the most powerful weapon which I could use to change the world.” It’s my favourite quote of all! This is important to me because in the quote it tells me that education can get me to be or do ANYTHING I want, and to reach my goals. Here where I live I see many people talking about peace and writing peace signs everywhere. If anyone starts to fight we all say " Bring the peace" and right there people stop fighting! So thank you very much for bringing peace and freedom to all!
Best wishes,
